Outfit of the Day: The Girl Can't Help It!

Hello, darlings!

Long time no see! Life has been a little crazy, but now I'm back, and channeling my inner Jayne Mansfield today.

The purple lace dress is from American Eagle Outfitters, the black sweater over is from Burlington Coat Factory (no idea of the actual maker as I cut out the tag - it was quite itchy!)

Earrings are American Eagle as well, the pearl drop necklace and brooch are vintage.

The hat is from Burlington Coat Factory as well, and it is huge!

I wore Fire and Ice on my lips again today as the weather has warmed some, and bright colors mean more warmth can't be far behind!

Until next time,

Outfit of the Day: Hey, Sweetheart!

Hello, darlings!

Once again, Happy Valentine's Day!

Today I wore the Shown to Scale wiggle dress solo for a little Marilyn Monroe/Bettie Page va va voom.

The gorgeous red rose I sported in my hair I got at Hollie GoFrightly's booth at Rock and Shock last October. It's a horror movie convention in Worcester, Massachusetts. It's so much fun!

Hollie GoFrightly offers pinup and movie-inspired pieces with a little bit of a dark twist. I have a darker red velvet rose from her, as well.

The red plastic heart earrings  I got for Valentine's Day ages ago, and the gold bangle bracelet with a red jewel dangle is from Express, and I've had it since high school.

I was also a bit cheeky with my lip shade today and wore 'Fire and Ice' for the first time. It's a bit lighter than my other reds but still very beautiful and wearable!

Outfit of the Day: A Touch of Red

Hello, darlings!

Today's outfit showcases the "Upper West Stride" hat from Modcloth that arrived in the mail last week! I wore it for a quick jaunt to the market, and got tons of friendly smiles and compliments.

My favorite H&M black fluffy jacket makes an appearance, and beneath it is a lace dress by a brand called Kirra. Not shown are the black ballet flats from Old Navy I'm wearing.

Jewelry is from the prom and special occasion section at Claire's!

Now, a bit more about that hat:

I absolutely love it, and it is a very near match for the red swing coat I intended it for. The elastic band to secure it took a little time to figure out, but I anchored it to my head with bobby pins for staying power and styled my hair to hide them. In the future, I may add combs for ease of wear and keep the elastic as a secondary wear option, but we'll see.

The real surprise though, came when I found out the brand. The Modcloth website doesn't mention this, and I feel that they should, but the hat is actually the Lucy Hat from Collectif UK! I literally squealed when I saw the tags, as I have been a huge fan of their dresses and accessories since discovering them in the summer. However, being that I live in the United States, Collectif isn't available to we Yanks except for online, and shipping from overseas is a pretty penny indeed!

Do any of you lovelies have items from Collectif? If so, what are they and what are your opinions of them? Do tell me in the comments below!

Under The Weather...

Hello, darlings!

Feeling a bit ill at the moment, so this week's outfit post will be pushed to next week.
However, my new hat arrived, along with a most excellent surprise, so stay tuned for that!

As for the remainder of the day - I see hot tea, comfy pajamas, and old movies in my future!

Until next time,

Hello, darlings!

Things are looking pretty spiffy around here, eh? I feel the blog has a crisper, more professional look now.

Many thanks to Pristine Polly for her help with the layout, it's positively gorgeous and suits my taste exactly!

Outfit of the Day: Miss Monochrome!

Hello, darlings!

Happy February to you all!

I still haven't fully accepted that American Horror Story: Coven is over. That being said, wearing black isn't just for Wednesday nights!

Today I paired a ruched wiggle dress by Shown To Scale with my favorite black fluffy jacket from H&M. The faux crystal necklace was a thrift shop find, and shoes are patent leather pumps by Christian Siriano for Payless.
